Auto Time Adjustments in WorkWeek ensure that time logs align with your business's operational policies, reducing manual corrections and improving efficiency. Here's a breakdown of how to set up and why it matters, with a focus on the Set Work Start Time feature.
How to Add an Auto Time Adjustment Rule
- Navigate to Auto Time Adjustments:
- Go to the "Time Adjustments" section in WorkWeek and select Auto time adjustments.
- Add a New Rule:
- Click the Add rule button.
- Configure Your Rule:
- Rule Name: Give the rule a clear name (e.g., "Morning Shift Start").
- Clock-In or Clock-Out: Choose whether the adjustment applies to Clock In or Clock Out.
- Set Work Start Time:
- Enable Set Work Start Time: Turn on this feature to standardise clock-in times.
- If an employee clocks in before the designated start time (e.g., 08:00), their clock-in will automatically adjust to exactly 08:00.
- This ensures early clock-ins do not reflect extra working hours unless intended by company policy.
- Adjust Times (Optional):
- For more customisation, you can set additional rules to adjust clock-ins that occur a certain number of minutes before or after the start time.
- Apply to Sites:
- Select the sites where this rule should be enforced by ticking the relevant checkboxes on the right.
- Save the Rule:
- Click Add rule to finalise and apply the settings.
Why Auto Time Adjustments are Important
- Standardised Timekeeping:
- Set Work Start Time ensures consistency by automatically adjusting any early clock-ins to the official start time. This prevents unintended overtime calculations and keeps payroll accurate.
- Reduced Administrative Work:
- By automating these adjustments, admins and managers no longer need to manually correct time logs, saving time and reducing human error.
- Compliance and Fairness:
- Ensures that employees are paid according to agreed working hours and prevents disputes related to early arrivals that might otherwise count as unpaid work or lead to payroll inaccuracies.
- Streamlined Payroll:
- Accurate, auto-adjusted time logs ensure smooth payroll processing, reflecting true working hours and reducing potential disputes or corrections at the payroll stage.
By implementing Set Work Start Time, businesses can efficiently manage early clock-ins, ensuring fair and consistent treatment of time logs, ultimately contributing to smoother operations and accurate payroll.
